
Oberon District Museum has established a small group to work on a project “More Oberon Treasures” – designed to continue the work initiated by Rotary when they invited Mick Joffe to interview people for his book “Living Treasures of Oberon,” which was published in 2001.
The aim of our project is to capture people’s stories, as many as possible, and make them available to the community.
Interviewing, transcribing and editing people’s stories is a slow process. Each interview is structured and condensed by at least two editors to present an interesting written version. Care is taken to use the person’s words and turn of phrase to bring out their character in the process.
